WE GOT NOW...

WE GOT NOW...
The road to becoming a household name in fashion has never been easy for black designers. The constant scrutiny and marginalization of their works despite centuries of innovation have made contributed to the continued homogenization of the higher rungs of fashion. So we must stand together to boost the signal of those outstanding black fashion designers so that they can continue to inspire generations to come.

Tia is a world citizen born in Nigeria, raised in London she now calls the United States home as she continues to ascend toward new heights in the performative fashion world. Growing up she found her niche sewing for herself and friends, carefully carving her uniquely strong sensibility into a statement Slashed by Tia which evolved into her eponymous brand Tia Adeola. Loved by many of today's brightest stars she is poised to continue to exhibit growth with new innovative designer collaborations with the likes of global luggage AWAY we are looking forward to seeing what Tia does next.

London based designer Maximilian Davis has made quite the name for himself at such a very young age. Joining the ranks of the esteemed fashion powerhouse Fashion East where some of the best young designers hone their skill sets and collaborate in hopes of becoming global luxury brands of the future. Maximilian has steadily grown a cult following which now includes the likes of Rihanna. His knack for tailoring and deep understanding of silhouette developed during stints at Grace Wales Bonner make him one of London's most exciting designers to date and we are very excited to see what's ahead.

At the age of 23 Taofeek Abijako has already accomplished what few more than twice his age could even dream of. As one of the youngest designers ever to show at NYFW, Taofeek brings a vibrant, youthful and intuitive energy to fashion with his Brooklyn based label Head of State. Rising from humble beginnings in Nigeria, Taofeek faced immense challenges early on which propelled him to greatness after a stroke of visa luck granted his family the opportunity to relocate to Albany NY. There he discovered his passion for fashion and now Abijako uses his design sensibility to tackle difficult global challenges like sustainability.
