Celebrating outstanding small business is so important in a day and age when so many are closing their doors. Times have shifted and the terrain has never been more difficult to navigate so it felt especially timely to join forces via collaboration with such amazing brands. This past weekend we held A Very, Very, Very Black Weekend a unique retail experience at Coffee Was Black featuring culinary purveyors Umami Friends & Gaia Deeds and emerging headwear brand OOOCTAVE. These businesses celebrate the richness and storytelling of the African diaspora and invite patrons to experience the unfamiliar and exciting. Dulce du leche Plantain Blondies met Sorrel and Ginger matchas and crispy pave potatoes. A world of flavor in a single destination and memories for a lifetime...
